KIA Motor Corporation has begun selling its next-generation KIA Sportage crossover SUV in China. The car is based on the KIA NP Concept, should eventually replace the old Sportage R in its market niche and can be purchased starting at 119,900 Chinese Yuan.
The next KIA Sportage may use the same platform as its predecessor, but it compensates for that by having a brand-new body design. The car hits the market in China with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine good for 161 hp (120 kW) and 193 Nm (142 lb·ft) of torque. Customers may choose between 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
The updated KIA Sportage comes with a panorama glass roof, LED headlights and a nice variety of steering assistance features. It is also available with two wheel set options, 17” and 18”.
