Kia Stinger gets a facelift in South Korea

Kia still hasn’t decided whether to produce a second generation of its Stinger liftback or abandon it, but today, it revealed an update of the domestically sold Stinger model.

Exterior novelty is limited to new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs, an additional body color, redesigned headlights, enlarged tailpipes (GT only) and two optional black body kits.

Inside, a new 10.25-inch infotainment replaces the old 8-inch one, and the trimming materials improve in quality across the board. The list now even includes such premium options as aluminum, carbon fiber and fine leather. As for the ambient lighting, it is now available in 64 colors.

No technical specifications were released. Rumor has it that the 2021 Stinger GT will trade its 3.3-liter turbo-six mill with 370 hp (276 kW) at the crank for the 3.5-liter engine of the Genesis G80. This will give it 380 hp (283 kW), or 420 hp (313 kW) if a boost is applied.

Sales in South Korea should begin later into the third quarter of 2020.
