Kia made ripples with the launch of its performance liftback Stinger five years ago, but that model has begun to fade into obscurity lately. YouTuber Sam CarLegion decided to remind us of the dynamic and powerful ride by racing it against a supercharged Mustang.
The Kia Stinger GT shown here normally packs a 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbocharged to deliver 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to a Stage III tune, this on produces around 500 PS (492 hp / 368 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels.
Going up against the Korean performance car is a formidable Ford Mustang GT with Roush Performance Stage III tuning. The North American is a clear favorite of the race with 750 PS (740 hp / 552 kW) and 908 Nm (670 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. It also benefits from a ten-speed A/T and weighs nearly the same as its weaker opponent, but has only two driven wheels in the back.
Will the drive configuration decide the winner, or will it be not enough no bridge the gap? Watch the video starting from 5:40 to find the answers.
