Car manufacturer Koenigsegg has announced the forthcoming release of a limited series of hybrid supercars. The company designs the vehicle with its latest partner, NEVS, and plans to release a few hundred copies of it priced at €1,000,000.
According to Koenigsegg CEO, the new vehicle will not be just a modified version of its super hybrid Regera or Agera RS. As such, it should appeal to the broader market.
Technical details are a bit scarce right now. The drivetrain of the car will reportedly consist of a shaftless gasoline engine called Freevalve, assisted by two electric motors and a traction battery. The hybrid power unit might end up partnered with Koenigsegg’s KDD transmission, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed.
NEVS and Koenigsegg have only recently signed a cooperation agreement. The new partner plans to invest €150,000,000 in hypercar production. In turn, the company asks for a 20% share in the business, plus free access to its technologies.
