Video: 1,600HP Koenigsegg Jesko in motion

Koenigsegg has uploaded the first video from the live tests of its Jesko hypercar at an industrial complex in Ängelholm, Sweden. Hit ‘Play’ to see it in action and listen to its engine sound.

The manufacturer positions the super coupe as the successor to the Agera RS series. It comes equipped with a dual-turbocharged V8 with five liters of displacement. The unit delivers around 1,280 horsepower (954 kilowatts) operating on normal fuel and a whopping 1,600 hp (1,193 kW) when tanked with E85. The maximum torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) unlocks at 5,100 RPM, and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) becomes available from 2,700 RPM onwards.

A custom nine-speed LST transmission with eight multi-plate clutches sends the power to the wheels. The gears take between 20 and 30 milliseconds to shift.

The aerodynamic kit of the car produces 800 kilograms (1,765 lbs) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph). Accelerating to 275 km/h (170 mph) pushes it down with an extra 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs), while speeding to the max raises the downforce to the magnificent 1,400 kg (3,090 lbs).
