Koenigsegg signals new sport car premiere in 2019

The Swedish hypercar builder Koenigsegg has revealed the first teaser image of its forthcoming hypercar model it is going to present at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland next year.

The photo was demonstrated during the opening of a new Koenigsegg dealership in Melbourne, Australia. The vehicle shown on it differs from both the Regera and the Agera RS models in terms of rear design, lighting, and dimensions.

According to an unconfirmed source, the sport car is meant to be a replacement for the Agera RS, which has scored five worldwide speed records but went out of production in the fall of 2017. A total of 25 vehicles have been produced since 2015, each one equipped with a monstrous 5.0-liter V8 turbo engine capable of 1,360 hp (1,014 kW) and a comparable amount of torque. Driven by a beast like this, the vehicle could accelerate to a maximum of 450 km/h (280 mph) riding in a straight line.

There is no price information available to date, but it is perhaps worth mentioning that the Koenigsegg Agera RS series had cost U.S. $2,000,000 in the base specification.
