Koenigsegg getting a new hypercar ready to rumble

Swedish automaker Koenigsegg has shared a teaser of a mysterious new hypercar that Motor1.com believes to be an anniversary spin-off of its existing model being built to celebrate the company’s first production vehicle.

The car is the manufacturer’s official main goal for 2022, and it aims at improving the already impressive Koenigsegg performance thanks to smart engineering solutions and optimized aerodynamics. No other details have been provided at the moment.

Motor1 points out multiple homages to the company’s other works in the teaser pic, including the Agera, the CCR and the CCX.

In 2022, Koenigsegg will be celebrating 20 years since the debut of the CC8S Coupe shown elsewhere in our gallery and in the embedded video. The vehicle sported a body composed from Kevlar, carbon fiber and aluminum parts and made use of a 4.7-liter Ford V8 engine rated at 664 PS (655 hp / 488 kW). It could sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds and didn’t hit its speed ceiling until 390 km/h (242 mph). Only six units was built.
