Koenigsegg has staged an online presentation to reveal the Absolut, the ultimate version of its Jesko hypercar destined to set a new acceleration record among production cars.
The manufacturer stays silent about the specifics, but everything seems to indicate that the car will break the 500 km/h (310.7 mph) barrier.
The Absolut is being marketed as an aerodynamically perfect version of the Jesko with its drag ratio as low as 0,278 (Cd).
The most immediately obvious difference from the previous kit comes in the form of dual fins coming to replace the fixed rear wing and reportedly needed to stabilize the vehicle on track when the speed become extreme. The newcomer also ditches the front splitter with side winglets and sports a longer rear end (+85 mm / +3.32”).
The hypercar comes powered by an upgraded variant of the old 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 1,622 PS (1,600 hp, or 1,193 kW). The torque amounts to 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft), and a nine-speed semi-automatic transmission is used to send the momentum to the wheels.
