Koenigsegg urges drivers to be careful as it investigates Jesko fire

Following an incident with a Koenigsegg Jesko going up in flames and burning down completely in Greece a few days ago, the Swedish automaker has issued a formal request to the other drivers to stay away from their hypercars until all details can be figured out.

The official reason of the incident remains to be announced. Egg Registry speculates that external conditions could be to blame for it. The all-carbon Jesko was taking part in an exotic vehicle parade in scorching heat (+40ºC / +104ºF) when it combusted.

Indeed, it could be argued that slowly driving a high-end car with a massive 1,600-PS (1,578-hp / 1,177-kW) engine toiling at high RPMs is a recipe for disaster, because it naturally limits the amount of coolant air reaching the drivetrain.

The burnt remains of the car have been secured and transported to Sweden for further study. The company promises to share any new information it discovers immediately, Egg Registry reports.
