Video: this is what 0-400-0 km/h looks like from inside a hypercar

In September, the Koenigsegg Regera RS has made a new world record as the fastest car to accelerate from standstill to 400 km/h (nearly 250 mph) and then brake to zero again. Now, the Swedish hypercar maker has released the footage filmed from inside the cabin during the test run.

Driving the Regera on a military airbase runway, test pilot Sonny Persson has managed the abovementioned routine in 31.49 seconds, surpassing by two seconds the company’s own record set with an Agera RS.

The video enables you to better understand what the pilot was feeling during the run and confirms that the car used was completely stock, save for the four-point safety harnesses and the roll cage.

The manufacturer has also released the main telemetry data collected during the run. As it turns out, the car made it from zero to 400 km/h in 22.82 seconds (0-250 mph in 23.64 seconds). It then braked from 400 km/h to zero in 8.67 seconds (250-0 mph in 8.84 s). The entire 0-400-0 km/h run took 31.49 seconds, the 0-250-0 mph run – 32.48 seconds.

It seems likely that the Koenigsegg Regera RS can do even more with its 1,500hp (1,119kW) powertrain. The hypercar has a manufacturer-limited top speed of 410 km/h (254.8 mph), and the company is currently trying to establish just how fast it could go without this electronic leash on.
