BMW revealed a unique Vantablack X6 (G06) last summer, painted an ultra-deep shade of black that absorbed up to 99.96% of all visible light. Naturally, the unhinged team of Garage 54 couldn’t resist responding in kind.
The guys from Novosibirsk, Russia did not bother looking for a BMW X6 and just took an old-and-proven Lada instead. First, they applied a deep black primer on the entire car body, the kit, the headlights and the wheels (including the tires, by the look of it). Then they covered everything in a self-made mixture of black paint and soot. As you can see on the video, the end result may not be quite as impressive as the Vantablack – but it sure is much cheaper and easier to produce. And hey, it kind of still looks good.
One last consideration: Garage 54 is offering such customization on a daily basis, whereas BMW still cannot decide whether it needs anything like the Vantablack in its finish palette or not.
