Melbourne-based Factory 10 Fabrication has fashioned an art object out of a used Lada Niva off-roader imported from Russia.
The images come from The Drive. One of the employees of the magazine used to drive the Niva a while ago, but it has lately fallen into disrepair.
The reporters used the SUV to perform various tests, such as trying out the hauling capacities of the Ford Ranger with the Niva in the truck bed (see video). However, after a period of non-use, the car developed rust, and was even infested with rats. Considering it a write-off, the journalist scrapped the powertrain and partly restored the body to serve as a wall ornament with fancy LED illumination.
We’ve seen similar things done before, often with much more expensive cars. A Lamborghini Diablo remade into a wall decoration went up on sale last year with most internals intact except for the engine, which was missing.
