A particularly monstrous Lada Niva could be yours for €44k

German tuning company ZUBR specializes in hardcore off-road conversions of the Russian SUV Lada Niva, and one of its latest works is up for sale in the country with a €44,000 tag shamelessly slapped on it.

The ride height gains 150 mm (6 inches) in this special version, lifting the ground clearance to a total of 235 mm (9.2 inches). Additional underbody protection contributes to keeping the drivetrain safe, while Hankook Dynapro MT tires in extended arches make sure you get as far as you need to get. Matte-black aftermarket bumpers at both ends offer enhanced approach and departure angles, and a snorkel is provided for wading deep water. A spare wheel mount can be found in the back, but you will have to pay extra for the wheel.

Rounding things off in style is a protective paint coat in matte green said to stave off scratches and rust. Nothing changes inside or under the hood, where an antiquated engine still sends 82 PS (82 hp / 61 kW) and 129 Nm (95 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels through a five-speed manual box.

We understand that no one is immune against buying such an SUV when the fancy strikes, but for the €44,000 asking price, it has to strike pretty damn hard (middle age crisis, anyone?). Still, ZUBR says customs are available with a waiting time of three months on average, so it looks like the demand is there, after all.
