Polo Storico brings the Miura P400 from 1969 ‘The Italian Job’ back to mint condition

Polo Storico, a company that specializes in restoring classical Lamborghini cars, has conducted a complete restoration of the unique Miura P400 coupe featured in the 1969 crime comedy The Italian Job. The vehicle appears in the opening scene driven by Roger Beckermann (played by Rossano Brazzi).

As it turns out, two Miura sports cars were used on the set, but one was wrecked during the shooting, and the other was later acquired by U.S. movie studio Paramount. The car was generally considered lost until two businesspeople from Great Britain managed to locate it in the ownership of renowned car collector Fritz Kaiser.

He agreed to hand the iconic two-door coupe over to Polo Storico for an extensive restoration job. The company then went through all the archives and even contacted the movie crew members who used to drive the car to the set. It established that the chassis number of Fritz’s Miura – 3586 – is indeed the chassis number of the car featured in the movie.
