It is official: the aggressive-looking Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Concept that the Italian carmaker unveiled a while ago will become a production vehicle, with the launch penciled in for 2021. The production will be limited to between 500 and 1,000 copies priced around U.S. $270,000 each.
The company hopes that the special edition will bolster sales of the regular Huracan before its successor arrives on the market (the latter was previously postponed to 2024).
To cut production costs of the new Sterrato, the manufacturer will produce certain components using 3D printers and light synthetic materials.
The original Sterrato Concept was based on the Huracan Evo and packed a 5.2-liter V10 engine rated at 640 hp (478 kW). The prototype supercar featured AWD, bottom guard plates, flared fenders, aluminum side sill reinforcements, LED-based lighting throughout, extra ride height, and a new 20-inch wheel set.
