The Italian carmaker will be releasing up to 40 copies of its new SCV12, which is a high-end supercar built for the racetrack based on the Aventador chassis. Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and Squadra Corse divisions announced co-working on the project last fall.
The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine it comes with churns out 830 horsepower (620 kilowatts), which is roughly 60 hp (45 kW) above the power limit of the Aventador SVJ spec.
The car also boasts an aerodynamic kit that is said to surpass even those of the GT3 Series racecars in terms of downforce and drag reduction. Despite this, the model will not be certified for participation in professional racing events.
Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission sends the momentum to the rear wheels, while a lightweight carbon-fiber chassis makes steering easier and more intuitive. There is also a differential gear with adjustable locking levels, as well as magnesium-alloy wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 at the rear end, wrapped in purpose-designed Pirelli tires.
All buyers of the new SCV12 will gain access to special training programs that Lamborghini will be conducting on multiple famous raceways.
