A Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 coupe will go under the hammer in Switzerland on July 3. Since only 247 units was made, the price is estimated at 400,000 – 500,000 CHF (U.S. $408,000 – $510,000).
The first Lamborghini four-seater came out in 1966 and continued to be made until 1968. Judging by the photos, its rear seat row had precious little legroom.
This particular example was pieced together 55 years ago and sold new in Switzerland. It has belonged to one and the same family since 1968 and has never been restored, but is still reported to be in excellent condition. With 87,000 kilometers (54,060 miles) under its belt, it is not exactly a garage queen, but the mileage is arguably moderate.
A 3.9-liter V12 under the hood drives the rear wheels with 325 PS (321 hp / 239 kW) through a five-speed manual transmission. The top speed lies at 241 km/h (150 mph). Equipment on board includes radio and – a rare luxury for its era – an air conditioner.
