First Lambo EV coming in around 2028 with four seats, high clearance

The first all-electric Lamborghini will complement the existing lineup of vehicles instead of replacing one of the models on sale, company CEO Stefan Winkelmann said in an interview with Auto Express. He added that it would offer two extra seats and impressive amounts of ground clearance.

The new model will become the fourth in the Italian marque’s lineup, which currently includes two differently sized supercars and a luxury crossover SUV. Per Winkelmann, the electric car is envisioned as a daily driver with four comfortable seats and a greater ride height that what supercars usually offer. He declined to answer what body styles are being considered, but revealed that there would only be two doors.

Lamborghini plans to utilize Volkswagen tech in the project as well, just like it did with the Urus SUV seen in the gallery below. This may or may not mean that it will be based on the Scalable Systems Platform (SSP) and therefore related to the upcoming flagship  EV so far known as ‘Volkswagen Trinity’.

The market launch is expected in 2028 or thereabouts.
