Lamborghini’s first EV shaping up to be a GT four-seater

According to Motor1 quoting Lamborghini CEO Stefan Winkelmann, the Italian marque’s first all-electric vehicle will be its fourth release after two other supercars and an SUV. It is being envisioned as a comfort-laden Grand Tourer for four people and is scheduled to arrive in 2028 or close.

Earlier rumors had claimed that the marque’s first battery car was an SUV with lots of ground clearance. That claim apparently originated from the leaked information about a ‘suspension lift’. As it now turns out, there will indeed be a suspension lift: the automatic system will lift the nose of the Lambo GT for going over obstacles such as speed bumps.

Winkelmann believes the car will make an excellent addition to the company’s lineup, which never had any Grand Tourers in it. A model like that could prove quite popular with the buyers.

All technical specifics remain unknown. The recently debuted Revuelto supercar (shown here) may provide both the exterior design and the hybrid powertrain for the GT, but this remains to be seen. The Revuelto has four electric motors driving its wheels with a combined 1,015 PS (1,001 hp / 747 kW).
