Lamborghini bringing a racing prototype to Goodwood

Lamborghini has announced the unveiling of a new LMDh-class racecar prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed starting on July 13, 2023.

The Italian supercar maker first mentioned the plans for such a car in the spring of 2022, and proceeded to publish the first teaser last fall. It had Y-shaped headlights, a massive rear wing and a roof scoop. Later on, the company revealed that it would design its own, proprietary twin-turbo V8 engine with 90-degree cylinder camber. It also said Ligier would provide the chassis.

The LMDh racing regulations limit the top speed of the part-electric car at 340 km/h (211 mph) and its dry weight at 1,030 kilograms (2,270 pounds). The peak powertrain output must not exceed 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW).
