In celebration of the 50th birthday of the Lamborghini Espada sports car series, Monaco will hold an auction for a highly unique Espada built on the No. 7293 chassis and once piloted by His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III of Monaco himself, accompanied by his wife and son, on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit.
The vehicle was later exhibited at a motor show in Boston, USA, and only then delivered to its owner.
There are quite a few things that make this particular Lamborghini Espada unique, apart from its communion with the Monaco royalty. The car with the No. 7293 chassis also features a panorama roof and a unique 15-layer blue metallic lacquering its owner ordered applied to it in the car styling atelier Gruppo Bertone.
The vehicle underwent a complete overhaul five years ago and now bears an autograph by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, Prince Rainier’s son. The current owner and seller of the car is a nephew of the late Ferruccio Lamborghini.
Auction holders don’t provide any kind of estimations on how much the vehicle may fetch, but we can assume that even the starting price is likely to exceed €500,000.
