Lamborghini keeps pushing back the introduction of its next-generation Aventador super sports coupe, quoting the need to optimize its hybrid powertrain. The launch date has moved from 2020 to 2022, and now insiders claim that 2024 is even likelier. However, some details still make it through, so let’s review those.
While the current-gen Aventador ships with the ISR seven-speed, semi-auto transmission with a single-clutch mechanism, the new one will receive the more up-to-date dual-clutch design.
Also, according to Lamborghini CEO Maurizio Reggiani, the newcomer won’t be inheriting the supercapacitor-based power storage of the Terzo Millennio Concept. Instead, it will feature a more conventional traction battery design.
