A homemade, yet fully functional imitation of the Lamborghini Aventador is looking for a new owner in Moscow, Russia right now. The seller asks for ₽4.75 million (around $43,000 USD), but reserves the right to adjust the pricing due to rapidly changing conversion rates.
Video blogger Ilya Strekalovskiy and his team built the car and put it on sale last fall, pricing it at ₽1.1 million – less than a quarter of the current asking price. No reason was given for the reevaluation.
Powering the replica is a six-liter V12 of the W140 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In its stock form, the engine normally makes either 394 PS (389 hp / 290 kW) or 412 PS (406 hp / 303 kW), but the listing says it churns out 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW). An Audi manual transmission sends the torque to the rear axle. The body is all-custom, made of glass-fiber reinforced plastic, and pieced together like a construction set. The interior is also unique and has nothing to do with the original Aventador cabin.
In spite of these discrepancies, the seller proudly claims it is “the best Aventador replica in the world.” He admits the car is still far from finished and requires considerable investment to complete, but it is apparently already street-legal. A license plate can be seen under the windshield on one of the photos.
This is not the first Aventador imitation made in Russia. Another replica built by a resident of Penza went on sale in late 2021 in unfinished condition and priced at ₽1.1 million.
