Lamborghini Aventador spied testing with weird exhaust tips

Lamborghini continues testing a new supercar slated to replace the Aventador, and the latest spy shots posted on Carscoops suggest that the body is already production-ready. The exhaust finishers on one out of the two test vehicles look bizarre and not real, though.

The automaker mostly uses shapeless cloth patches for the camo, only sticking vinyl wraps where the cloth would be tricky to apply. As a result, the outlines of the body can barely be seen. On the bright side, it likely means the exterior design is either finalized or very close to it.

While one of the cars sports normal-looking tailpipes, the other one has smallish quad tips that converge to form two exhaust streams. It could be the carmaker’s temporary way to monitor emissions, but we cannot be sure. At any rate, emission testing means the production launch should be coming soon.

The still-unnamed new supercar might become Lambo’s first mass-produced hybrid on record. Rumors claim it consists of a new 6.5-liter V12 engine and an electric system combining efforts for more than 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts). The projected reveal date is in March 2023.
