Lamborghini Aventador successor shows up in patent sketches

Lamborghini has submitted the patent drawings of a supercar destined to replace the discontinued Aventador to the World Intellectual Property Organization. According to Carscoops, the application was submitted as early as October 2022.

Judging by these sketches, the supercar has Lambo’s typical proportions and exterior styling cues. There are more sharp edges and Y-shaped details compared to the Aventador, as well as a mysterious niche in the engine bay lid. We suppose it could be for a see-through window allowing a peek at the internals.

Other than that, the sketches show what we have already seen on prototypes spotted on the roads multiple times already (watch the video if you missed it). The body outlines and exhaust tip layout are identical, for example.

The important conclusion to make here is that the car is not fully electric. It may well be a hybrid, though, rumored to be coming with 1,000 horsepower under the hood. If true. that would make it a direct competitor of the Ferrari’s ultimate flagship, the SF90 Stradale.

Some say the unveiling might take place in March this year, but the sales likely won’t begin until 2024.
