A surprisingly faithful replica of the Lamborghini Aventador roadster based on a 2006 Holden Monaro is up for grabs in Texas, USA, for an asking price of $35,000. Its creator even went through the pain of moving the engine to within the wheelbase, Carscoops points out.
The donor here is a Pontiac GTO for Australia, which mainly differed from its North American counterpart in terms of engine. It packed a larger 6.0-liter V8 and produced 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) along with 542 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque.
The tuner moved the engine behind the front seats and covered it with a Lamborghini-style lid visible through the window at the rear. All the bodywork was designed so as to look as close to the original as possible. Aside from new bumpers, the roadster ended up with Aventador-style lighting all around, massive side intakes and wing doors.
It is unclear whether a hardtop is included in the sale. According to Carscoops, neither the Pontiac GTO nor the Holden Monaro had a topless modification in this particular generation, meaning that whoever did the conversion chopped off the roof, too.
