We have already reported about Sterling and Xander Backus, who used a 3D printer to print a painstaking replica of the Lamborghini Aventador SV. Imagine their surprise when on the Christmas Eve, the company snuck into their garage and put a REAL Aventador S there!
It is reported that late at night, representatives of the company came and took away the replica of the car, leaving a real 750PS (740hp, 552kW) supercar in its place. We do not have any details on how that was accomplished or how much of it was staged; it does not appear to be that important, either.
The car will remain with the Backus family for two weeks, after which the company expects it back. Lamborghini has expressed hope that it has helped the father and son come a little bit closer to fulfilling their lifelong dream: to own a real Lambo Aventador. It has stressed that forgeries and fakes of any kind are strictly against its policy, but the family from Colorado, USA had demonstrated true love to the car they strived to imitate, so an exception simply had to be made.
