Meet Vector M-12, an exotic supercar armed with a Lamborghini Diablo V12

The Vector M-12 coupe is one out of 14 of its king, and it will try finding a new owner at an auction in late March.

Vector Aeromotive built these unique vehicles in 1995 through 1999, fitting each one with a 5.7-liter Lamborghini Diablo V12. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, it put out 492 PS (485 hp / 362 kW) to the pavement and had a maximum torque of 576 Nm (425 lb-ft). It needed 4.8 seconds to get going at 60 miles per hour (97 km/h), a fair bit behind the Diablo’s 4.1 seconds.

The example on sale has the chassis number 12, and left the workshop in 1999. According to the auction holder, the car was custom-ordered by Sultan of Brunei, who chose a combination of a black body with red interior upholstery.

The supercar received a major overhaul in the fall of 2019, which saw its engine and transmission repaired and cabin expanded to accommodate taller passengers. The seller claims the overall design was painstakingly preserved.
