Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has a long history of partnership with the Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport. Six Lambos joined the airport service fleet in the past to work as “follow-me” cars guiding planes to their landing and docking sites. Today, a Huracan Evo joined that fleet.
The Evo boasts a special livery of orange and green designed by Lamborghini to resemble the rest of vehicles and equipment used on the runway. The hood and the doors sport captions “Follow me in our beautiful Italy”, and there are flashing beacons on the roof.
Before the Evo entered service, the airport resorted to the services of a Huracan LP 580-2 with 580 PS (572 hp / 427 kW) under the hood. As for the Evo, it packs a 5.2-liter V10 rated at 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW), has an all-wheel drive system, and supports four-wheel steering. It needs 2.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standing still.
