You may remember that Chris Steinbacher, a car aficionado and host of B is for Build, decided to acquire a wrecked Lamborghini Huracan and turn it into badass off-roader – well, here’s the result.
The car, which goes by the name of Jumpacan, had been originally intended for Mint 400 debut in March, but the show was pushed back to December, and Chris got tired of waiting. As the video proves, the car is up and running, whether on asphalt or otherwise.
As good as it is, though, identity is perhaps the main issue we have with this build. Is it truly a Huracan? Let us recap: the original V10 got destroyed in the crash, so it was ditched for an LS V8 crate engine common in such projects. A Mustang Shelby GT500 supplied the braking system, and the interior was stripped of everything Lambo, leaving only a couple of aftermarket seats with safety belts on them. Naturally, the suspension had to be redesigned for off-road use, too, and the overhangs had to be shortened for the same practical reasons.
In the end, cabin bodywork is about all we have remaining of the original Huracan. A bit of a ‘stone soup’ story pattern here, wouldn’t you say?
