Lamborghini Huracan gets blown up into a thousand of NFT bits

A mysterious artist known as Shl0ms has posted a video on Twitter where they detonate explosives on a Lamborghini Huracan and turn the resulting debris into 999 non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Most of these are now being traded at an auction.

The video shows other famous cases of art objects being destroyed, as well as the explosion of the Huracan and the NFT objects themselves: videos displaying burnt, crumpled pieces of the supercar rotating in the void.

According to Shl0ms, 111 people took part in the performance to make sure the bits come out as artistically pleasing as possible. Every participant will be getting one token for themselves, while the rest will be available for trading. The artist admitted they wanted to get more money back from the sale than he paid for the original Lambo, which as far as we know cost him around $230,000 USD.

Lamborghini denied any connection to the artist and the action, but the company has done NFT business before. Among other things, it hired Fabian Oefner, an artist famous for his incredibly detailed photographs of small objects, to draw collages of Aventador Ultimae cars leaving Earth for open space, and sold NFT tokens for these collages.
