Lamborghini has unveiled the latest track-only modification of its Huracan supercar. Called the GT3 Evo2, it mainly features a stiffer body along with revised aerodynamic parts and some elements borrowed from the ultimate STO version.
The entire body of the car, including the floor, is made of carbon fiber. Compared to its Evo predecessor released four years ago, the Evo2 features enhanced aerodynamics and exerts more downforce at various accelerations.
This is especially evident thanks to an impressively sized rear wing, which looks much like the wing on the street-legal Huracan STO, but with different, flexibly adjustable supports. The STO also donated the roof scoop and the recognizable stabilizer fin in the back.
Elsewhere, the new racer boasts upgraded brakes, a revised roll cage, and new mounting hardware for the plastic windows that should result in greater body rigidity. The 5.2-liter V10 benefits from upgraded throttle valves. Its output is not mentioned, but the road version makes up to 640 PS (631 hp / 471 kW).
The 24 Hours of Daytona set to take place in January 2023 will be the first race the new Huracan will take part in. Sales to racing teams will begin in the second half of the current year. Owners of the old Huracan GT3 Evo can ask to have their cars retrofitted to the Evo2 spec.
