Norwegian niche automaker Zyrus Engineering has modified its track-only Zyrus LP1200 R model to be drivable on public roads. The first out of only nine examples planned will be heading to its owner next month.
Taking the Lamborghini Super Trofeo LP 640-2 as a starting point, the engineers overhaul it from the ground up to be capable of 1,217 PS (1,200 hp / 895 kW) in track mode. Switching to road mode dials down the twin-turbo boost to 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW). Acceleration performance is not specified, but we suspect it is not that important, given that the unmodded Super Trofeo hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds flat.
Overall, the conversion involves replacing around 600 components and installing a body kit capable of exerting up to 1.8 metric tons (3,970 lbs) of downforce. No expense is spared for Öhlins TTX shocks, carbon-ceramic brakes, forged wheels and many other high-end parts. An honorary mention goes to the exhaust system, which combines an Inconel manifold with a titanium muffler and pipes.
