The powertrain of the supercar coming to replace the Lamborghini Huracan will exceed 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW), CarBuzz reports quoting company CEO Stephan Winkelmann.
It is official that the new supercar will ditch the old non-turbo V10 for a twin-turbo V8 assisted by three electric motors. The still-unnamed car will be the third hybrid in the Italian automaker’s lineup after the Revuelto and the Urus.
With the above said, we suspect that Lambo will want to keep the output as close to 900 horsepower as possible, because its larger and more expensive Revuelto model makes 1,015 PS (1,001 hp / 747 kW). Positioning two supercars too close to each other in terms of specs would only lead to cannibalized sales.
Rumors claim the Huracan heir is called “Temerario”. Indeed, Lamborghini has registered such a trademark in the European Patent Office. However, it may have been an unrelated event. In any case, there has been no official information from the automaker so far.
