Check out the elusive Lamborghini Jarama S

Lamborghini had produced its admittedly awkward-looking Jarama S model in 1972–1976, and this example dated 1975 is currently begin sold at an auction with the betting at a low $45,000 due to the car’s state of disrepair and paper issues.

The Jarama is a four-seat sports car armed with a V12 engine that came to replace the Lamborghini Islero back in 1970. The S modification debuted a few years after that. Its controversial design was penned by Marcello Gandini, the same designer who came up with the iconic Countach and the universally loved Miura models. The Jarama is still considered among his less fortunate works, although it was one of CEO Ferruccio Lamborghini’s favorite rides ever thanks to its unique combination of practicality and sportiness.

It came in a three-door body and rocked a 3.9-liter V12 engine outfitted with as many as six carburetors. The mill made 365 PS (360 hp / 268 kW) and worked with a manual gearbox by default, but the example on sale had its box swapped out for a Chrysler TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic.

The company originally delivered the car to a client in Canada, from where it then went to the United States. Its current owner and seller bought it six years ago and claims the car had stood unused for a decade and a half before that.

He made sure to carry out cosmetic repairs earlier this year, restoring the body paint and the interior trim. The vehicle still needs its engine, brakes, air conditioner and wiring fixed before it could be driven.
