A 33-year-old Lamborghini LM002, one out of only 328 such cars produced, received a complete overhaul not long ago and is now heading to an auction block in excellent overall condition.
The Italian sports car maker launched the SUV into production 35 years ago, fitting every car with an upgraded Countach V12 rated at 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW). Despite weighing nearly three metric tons (6,600 lbs), the off-roader still reached 100 km/h (62 mph) in under eight seconds and maxed out at 190 km/h (118 mph).
The mileage is not specified anywhere, but we know that the engine underwent general maintenance in 1996 and the transmission in 2009. The body was repainted in the original navy blue shade a couple of years ago.
The car never made it outside of Europe: its original owner drove it in Lausanne, Switzerland, after which it went to France, where it changed hands once afterwards.
With regard to the selling price, the seller expects to get between €225,000 and €275,000 out of the deal. A similar Lambo off-roader made in 1989 with only 4,000 kilometers (2,480 miles) on the odo fetched U.S. $285,000 last fall.
