Check out a Lambo Miura in a naked metal body

A Lamborghini Miura P400 S devoid of any kind of exterior finish will go on sale on August 12, 2021. Here is its background story.

Apparently, the supercar with the chassis number 4761 was made half a century ago and had spent the past 40 years collecting dust in a warehouse in California. Its first owner – a 19-year-old female student – crashed it after two years of use.

The car was barely damaged with only a small area near the front right headlight crumpled, but the local service center never figured out how to buff it out properly, allegedly due to an exceedingly complex structure of the headlight niche and the light unit itself. As a result, the Miura was abandoned in a warehouse.

Four decades later, a Lamborghini fan bought out the car and spent eight months restoring it. A team of specialists stripped the original paint coat from the body and gave it a polish in some places. You can still see some of the grey paint here and there, but the body was never repainted.

The original navy blue leather upholstery remained as is. A four-liter V12 under the hood should still be capable of producing 370 PS (365 hp / 272 kW). You can watch the attached video for an overview of the P400 S model (but not this particular example, which has around 26,000 km / 16,000 miles on the odometer).

The seller now expects to get between $1.8 and $2.2 million USD out of the deal.
