Yesterday, we reported about John Hennessey taking his wife’s 800-HP Audi RS6 Avant to supercar speeds with a Christmas tree strapped to the roof, and now, a Lampoorghini joins the challenge as well. Make sure you read that name correctly, though.
A cursory glance at the car might not reveal it outright, but this is not a real Murcielago, not by a wide margin. Rather, it is a cheap replica based on a 1990s-era Toyota MR2 Turbo. It actually makes a convincing Italian supercar impression until you notice the windows that fail to close completely, and the headlights and badges that visibly differ from the genuine Murcielago counterparts.
The guys in the video make a trip to grab a Christmas tree and bring it to a local photo studio, but the weather seems determined to ruin the occasion. Nasty cold rain soaks the interior little by little, making drops of moisture to evaporate from the seats only to condense on the inner windshield and kill all visibility. It takes a serious effort to mount a three-meter (ten-foot) tall tree decorated with tinsel, lights and a topper on the roof. In the end, however, the mission is a success.
