Lamborghini has shared another video dedicated to the advantages of its latest supercar, the Revuelto. In it, the company’s Chief Designer Mitja Borkert and aerodynamics expert Ugo Riccio explain how the car manages to meet the low drag requirements while staying true to the Lamborghini design language.
According to the vid, the exterior design has been dictated by the need to upkeep the long-standing traditions while at the same time reaching an optimal balance between downforce and drag. The result is praised as a ‘work of art that strikes the perfect balance between form and function.’
For instance, the company’s signature tapering body shape and the sloping roofline direct the oncoming airflow straight to the rear radiator area. The novel-looking, boxy rear fenders and doors also contribute in no small part to the overall aerodynamic efficiency while looking like something that belongs on a true Lamborghini.
The rear wing in particular supports three positions – one for the lowest possible drag, another one for the maximum speed and the third one for the biggest downforce. Thanks to certain body kit optimizations, the Revuelto exerts 66% more downforce than the Aventador did.
