ABT Sportsline, a famous German car customizer, has released an ECU upgrade for the Lamborghini Urus, improving its performance beyond the already impressive factory numbers. Frankly said, we haven’t expected the company, which had lately turned to fiddling with cheaper mainstream Audi, Seat, Skoda and VW vehicles, to take on an Italian super-SUV, but a bit of diversity never hurts, eh?
In its stock form, the Urus comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine churning out around 640 hp (477 kW) and 850 Nm (627 pound-feet) of torque. Once the so-called ABT Engine Module is installed, the output rises to 700 hp (522 kW) and 910 Nm (671 lb×ft).
The company never disclosed any acceleration-related specifics, but the bulky SUV should now run the 0-100 sprint like a purebred supercar.
The Italian manufacturer might actually end up releasing its own performance version of the Urus, allegedly called the ‘Urus Performante’. That said, these are only rumors so far.
