Lamborghini rolls out its 10,000th Urus SUV, ships it to Russia

The Lamborghini factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, has recently finished piecing together the 10,000th Urus. The model was introduced in late 2017 and shipped in summer 2018.

It quickly proceeded to become the marque’s most popular car responsible for around 60% of all sales. For instance, Lambo sold a record-breaking 8,205 cars (+43%) last year, 4,962 of which were Uruses.

The anniversary specimen depicted here – black outside with a black and orange cabin – will be sold in Russia where the marque keeps gaining in popularity. Whereas only around three dozen Lambo supercars used to find new owners in that country every year before the introduction of the Urus, the company sold a whopping 141 units in 2019 – including 115 SUVs.

If the popularity of the luxury off-roader were to continue growing at the same pace we are observing currently, then in a year or two it could very well become the single best-selling Lamborghini vehicle throughout its entire history. This title had long belonged to Gallardo with 14,022 units sold within 10 years, but in the fall of 2019, Huracan dethroned it with nearly 16,000 units total.
