Lamborghini Urus shows up in a teaser vid

The opulent SUV turned three years old last December, and a facelifted example has recently been sighted on the streets. Now, Lamborghini has shared the first official video showing the update.

All things considered, it is unlikely that we will be seeing many changes. The Urus continues to be the Italian marque’s most popular model by far, responsible for nearly 60% of its total sales (4,391 out of 7,430 units sold last year were Uruses). As such, one can realistically expect a tweaked radiator grille, a new front bumper and reshaped light patterns – and little besides. Interior changes will likely boil down to a revamped dashboard layout, a few infotainment tweaks and rearranged HVAC controls.

The current Urus draws its power from a twin-turbo V8 rated at 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft). An eight-speed automatic transmission hits all four wheels, getting the SUV from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and then all the way up to 305 km/h (189.5 mph), making the model one of the fastest production crossovers worldwide.

Rumors about a performance-laden Urus SV and a full EV based on the same chassis remain unconfirmed, but we now know that a hybrid spec is coming up soon. Details are pending, although it seems likely that the Urus PHEV will get the same powertrain as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, good for 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft).

The refreshed Urus could be revealed later this year and ship next year.
