Lamborghini Urus sets an SUV speed record on naked ice

Accelerating to the max is no easy feat as is; you have to be extremely well aware of your surroundings and time every action with ice-cold precision. This is what Andrei Leontyev did yesterday on the Lake Baikal, making his Lamborghini Urus go as fast as 298 km/h (185.2 mph).

It is reported that he managed to hit an even greater speed of 302 km/h (187.7 mph) during his warm-up runs. He also set a record for a 1,000-meter distance, covering it on naked ice at 114 km/h (70.8 mph) on average.

The driving was especially dangerous due to the ice having partly thawed in certain areas. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The Urus may be the world’s fastest SUV on ice, but Audi RS6 Avant is the fastest production car there with a recorded max speed of 335.7 km/h (208.6 mph).
