Lamborghini has recently published a sales report for January-June 2021, reporting record-high sales. Today, the company’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory joined in on the hype, reporting 15,000 Urus models made.
These are indeed impressive numbers for what was envisioned as a small-batch luxury SUV. In July 2020, the company celebrated 10,000 units made, calling it a great success. Now, mere three years since launch, it has churned out an unthinkable 15,000 units. To put things into perspective, it took the Huracan five years and countless special editions to sell 14,000 units. The Urus dethroned it effortlessly.
Lambo’s plans for late 2021 include the launch of a refreshed SUV dubbed the Urus Evo, which keeps its 4.0-liter V8 under the hood but gains new versions. These include Sport RS, which should receive a boost to around 675 PS (666 hp / 496 kW) and a PHEV exceeding 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW).
