Of the recent spy photo sets, this one has to be the most puzzling. A Lamborghini Urus has recently been sighted on a test track with no license plate, no camo, and centerlock wheels on. What could it mean?
Centerlock wheels definitely have their advantages in professional motorsports, but they are seldom used outside of it. Special equipment is often required to install or remove them, making them a bit impractical for everyday use. Putting them on a crossover SUV with comfortable rear seats and around 4,500 pounds (2,268 kilos) of weight is nearly unprecedented and hard to explain.
What do you think? If we had to take a guess, we would assume that Lamborghini wanted to offer the centerlock option for its Urus Evo coming up in 2022. The facelifted SUV should keep its exterior unchanged, but is expected to get a major interior overhaul along with some technical upgrades. Perhaps the wheels are going to make the list, too.
