2023 Lambo Urus smashes through Pikes Peak record

A facelifted Lamborghini Urus has just set a new record in its own class by completing the Pikes Peak hill climb in 10 minutes and 32.06 seconds. The track is 20 km (12.4 miles) long, comprises 156 turns and culminates 4,302 meters (14,114 feet) above sea level.

A camouflaged prototype performed the climb. The company commented that it hoped more people would be willing to consider the Urus after seeing what it capable of.

The Bentley Bentayga, which had previously held the record, was 17 seconds slower to the finish line.

It is worth pointing out that the Urus received a number of modifications to the extent expressly allowed by the regulations. These included a roll cage, safety belts, bucket seats and a fire extinguishing system. The wheels were put in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires for the race.

The new Urus is slated to debut later this month.
