Not long ago, Lamborghini unveiled a power-boosted ‘S’ version of the Urus SUV (see video). It now looks like another modification is coming soon, and it is going to be partially electric.
The plug-in hybrid modification of the luxury performance SUV was announced as far back as 2016, but it wasn’t until this summer that the tests finally began. Judging by the fresh spy shots, the car is heavily camouflaged, which suggests a production-ready body underneath. Earlier prototypes were spotted with much less camo on, but only because they wore the old bodywork.
Compared to the S and Performante versions already on the market, the PHEV has a different front bumper, a charging port in the rear left fender and yellow ‘EV’ stickers.
Rumor has it the new Urus will deliver 820 PS (809 hp / 603 kW) to the wheels, while the non-hybrids mentioned above manage up to 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW).
