Lamborghini Urus spied testing in all-electric mode

Like many other automakers, Lamborghini strives to convert its car lineup to electric power. A plug-in hybrid version of the Urus SUV is in the plans as well, and we have already seen it driven on the roads – but never in the silent electric mode, which YouTuber Varryx now gives us a taste of.

Rumor has it that the super-SUV will share its part-electric powertrain with the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The latter uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in tandem with a single potent electric motor, churning out 700 PS (690 hp / 515 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. The Urus might benefit from a performance boost befitting its status, though, with the rumors pointing at 830 PS (819 hp / 610 kW) as the likely target power.

The SUV in the video lacks camouflage, letting us have a good close look at its redesigned front and rear ends. The front bumper and air vents are distinctly different, while the rear end makes do with a more restrained makeover.

It is unknown when the Lamborghini Urus PHEV may debut, but it is slated to go on sale before year-end.
