Lamborghini reports selling out the entire Urus V8 batch, hybrid due in 2024

Those in the market for a new Lamborghini Urus will have to wait until the hybrid comes out, because all examples equipped with the standard V8 engine are sold out, company CEO Stephan Winkelmann said in an interview to Welt. The part-electric version of the luxury SUV will take at least a year to arrive.

The manufacturer has allegedly registered enough reservations to keep the assembly lines running until the currently available Urus modification leaves production. Buyers were choosing between two trims: the opulent ‘S’ and the sporty ‘Performante’. Both came equipped with a four-liter V8 rated at 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque and could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.3 seconds.

Information is still scarce about the upcoming hybrid version. It is possible that it will get its powertrain from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, which makes 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW). The output may need to be adjusted to meet the requirements of the Italian luxury brand.

The Urus Hybrid will stay in production until 2029, but is on track to being eventually replaced with an EV.
