300-PS Lancia Aurelia restomod brings back the glory of the days past

British tuner Thornley Kelham will be building three opulent ‘Outlaw European CSL’ restomods based on the classical Lancia Aurelia model. You can tell it is a serious project when conceptualization alone takes over 5,000 hours.

The exterior of the resurrected sports car resembles that of the Chassis 1010, which racer Giovanni Bracco used to build his custom racecar in 1951 and win a series of prestigious races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans (in his category). Experts attributed much of his success to the aerodynamically chopped roof – something Kelham also plans to implement in the upcoming trio of restomods.

A 3.2-liter Busso V6 will provide 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) this time around thanks to fully programmable injection, racing-grade cylinder heads and a transaxle five-speed gearbox. The steering, the brakes, the differentials and other critical components will also be upgraded to their modern counterparts.

Interior features will include leather on the custom seats, Alcantara on the ceiling, wood on the steering wheel rim, and air conditioning.

There is no mention of pricing anywhere, but a few hundred thousand GBP is well within out range of expectations.
